Show Up For Yourself         (Poem) You are the one who has seen it all, The sunshine and rainbows and the thunder and rainfall, Firmly standing through it tall, Not a failure at all, Appreciate yourself and to your younger self give a call, Show up for yourself through it all. Even if you have to hold yourself accountable at all times, Or about your struggles you have to write rhymes, And wipe your tears behind tough smiles, Show up for yourself. Give yourself a pat on the back, you have worked hard through it all. Tend to your wounds, wipe your sweat and tears through the fall. It's alright if you are tired of standing through it tall, Still not a failure at all, Show up for yourself that's all.                                 ~ Urvi <3

The Fire Within

  The Fire Within...     Maybe it's time to start a new fire within,  Give it as much fuel as it takes.  As the sun sets make it shine.  As in the serene warmth a new hope bakes.  The power of fire rushes through veins,  So takes over the spirit to protect it from storms and rains.  Although the smoke is asphyxiating   And the eyes never seem to stop watering,  The fire has to survive the cold night,  Giving it all its might.  It really is the time to start a new fire within,  Give it all the fuel and tears it takes.  The warmth, The strength, and the shine are really   worth it,  Even the moon proudly looking over knows it.                                                     ~ Urvi Shiras <3

  When a firefly grows... (poem) An anxious voice rings in her ear, "Mama are you sure, I am ready for this?" Mama firefly with her eternal glow, replies with a kiss, "My child, I wouldn't have said so until I know the pressure you can bear." "But why can't I stay here, must I go? I can see the world from here, clear like the rivers flow" "You can darling but is it really fun? Do you feel the wind flow and be your own sun? Do you get to navigate through woods and run?" Baby firefly seem to ponder while mama just wandered. The little one approached its mother with a doubt. "Mama what if I fall?" It said in the smallest voice. "I promise you, my love, you will figure it out." "Are you sure", It said with a glimmer of hope. The child nodded to its mama's look which only both of them got. It gave mama a last kiss and a courageous journey it sought, Exploring the caverns of the sky, Realizing what would it hav...

If the road was always straight ( poem) I wonder if the road was always straight, Then everything would depend on fate. I wouldn't have to choose the route I love or hate Or part ways with my best mate. But sometimes I do wonder, If the two edges always seemed to meet,  What would the destination be?  And how will success feel?  Sunshine and rainbows or thunderstorms and rains, what will it be? I do wonder if the maps were already made,  Will the explorer in us fade?  And from what I feel,  Will the road match everyone's deal? ~ Urvi Shiras

  Planet Of My dreams  celebrating poetry day by posting the first-ever poem I wrote while I was 11 years old in 2017! Planet Of My Dreams The planet of my dreams is filled with peace, Along with lush green garden's piece.    I also want the tall trees to touch the heaven, One of the best way to see the miraculous heaven. Wide tree branches spread like butter, For small children like us to sit, to play, and to utter. Beautiful rivers are gushing, which are seen like diamonds rushing. Different creatures running around the globe, My dreams come true, I hope. In planet of my dreams, there is education for all, Not only for ones who spend in mall.
